Fate 03:06
What if the caveman (had) never made a spark with two stones, wouldn’t we all be still living in the dark in our homes? And if the writer kept the pen off the page, would we be staring at an empty stage, And if the chemists never found a cure, wouldn’t we all die? **Chorus** And what if I’d never told you, that living without you made me blue, What if I’d never told you, that there was no-one else but you. And if the poets kept their thoughts locked away; no books on the shelves, in our time of need would we have nothing to say to ourselves? Like shed no tear, no, shed no tear, the rose will bloom another year. Tell myself there is no fear, we’re all here for a reason. ... And if the writer kept the pen off the page, would we be staring at an empty stage, and if the chemists never found a cure, wouldn’t we all die? **Chorus** And what if I’d never told you, that living without you made me blue, What if I’d never told you, that there was no-one else but you.

Oh my portable screen, lord knows what I would do without you, without you. Always holding you tight, if I’d lose you, I know I’d get such a fright. When you call me, I’ll never be far away. Oh, you are my camera, my clock and my light, and I’ll never let you out of my sight. You’re my mirror, and I can’t keep my eyes off you. Oh my portable screen, show another message to me, and sing music - you know all of my favourite songs. And when we take the subway home, I’ll stare into your radiant glow, forever, like there’s nobody else around. Oh, You’re my compass, my map and my guide, and I’ll always keep you by my side. I just don’t know how I could survive without you. Oooo…

I had a dream that I was alive in 1985. I was running up that hill on the road to nowhere in the rhythm of the night. Then I turned my head and there I was back in 1981. I heard the sound of the crowd and it drove me crazy, with a lust for tainted love. But then I woke up to the death of music and the album days were gone. Give me a time machine and show me how to use it, and turn the engines on, and never wake me up I had a dream that I was alive in 1979. I had a heart of glass and a fear of music, but I knew I would survive. Then I turned my head and there I was back in 1967, with strawberry fields and a Waterloo sunset, and flowers in my hair. Then I woke up to the death of music. And the flowers had all gone! Give me a time machine and show me how to use it, and turn the engines on, and never wake me up. … I had a dream that I was alive in 1955. I heard the duke-box playing Tutti Frutti and then everyone went wild. Then I woke up to the death of music, and the death of rock n roll. Give me a time machine and show me how to use it, and turn the engines on, and never wake me up.

Visions 03:16
Passively entertained is the state of the modern brain, concentration and self-control, slowly eaten away. Where do we come from…. and what are we? And where are we going now? We’re on a journey to cyber space. Well I can see the future now. We’re inside the screen, and there’s no way out, oh! Time is slipping away. For 7 hours a day, I’m sinking inside my room into the liquid crystal display. And I’m finding it hard to breathe. There’s something living inside of me. It’s got one eye on the cell phone now and the other on the TV screen. I have seen the future now. The silent screams, please let me out of here.

Newsflash 03:06
Well something big has just begun, and everyone is talking about. All the numbers are going up, and the heads are looking down. Don’t you wanna be the first to read all about the latest real life horror show? And how does it make you feel to know that it could happen to you or someone you know? You gotta shut it down, before they shut you down, no! I hear the newsflash calling me. “Come gather round, it’s time to feed!” They can amuse you constantly, but they will you haunt you when you sleep. Cos your eyebrows are raised at someone’s lifelong sorrow it’ll shock you today, but bore you tomorrow you got something else to do but you’ll read about it anyway this 1-minute news is really stealing your life away You gotta shut it down, before they shut you down, no!

Waited 04:05
Safe and sound… as you watch another rose petal fall to the ground, where you know you're bound So you spend your time staring out the window as the world's flying by So you go outside to meet and greet them all Where you say “I'm fine” but you really feel nothing; do you recall ever feeling alive? Do you recognise yourself anymore? Mmmm… **Chorus** Am I paralysed by my freedom? Will I make up my mind before time erases me? All I have is time, but I waste it. This is a broken song to every man who lived and died. And the waters rise… and the world feels warmer than it did last year, and last year feels like a lifetime ago. Where did the flowers go and why do I feel so old. So much older than I’m supposed to be. **Chorus** Do you realise that you're sleeping? And will you open your eyes before the blanket covers you All we had was time, but we waited. This is a broken song for every man who lived and died And its “yesterday,” “tomorrow” all the same; 100 days, will I be gone? I'll put this note upon the table saying “please forget me” “Yesterday,” “tomorrow” all the same; 100 days, will I be gone? I'll put this note upon the table saying “please forget me”

Running Man 02:44
Run. Run with the wind. Run to the hills. Run to the heavens. We ran through the darkness, to the stars. We can’t stop now, just keep on running. Into the light. Into the light. Into the light Run. Run through the fields. Run through the streets. Run to the satellites. Run from the past, into the future Don’t look back, just keep on running. Into the light. Into the light. Into the light. Into the light... (spoken) Don’t you wanna know what’s out there? Don’t you wanna be the first to get there? Don’t you wanna run further than any man has ever run? Well… Run.

Staring at the setting sun; the day has almost gone, and you’re waiting for your life to begin Seasons pass, and weeks go by, but the time is on your side, so you sing this song tonight oh yeah Do you feel it? Can you feel it slipping away? Is it something you dare not say, cos in the end it'll be alright oh yeah Waking up, 25, to the beat of a summer night in a city far away from home Faces pass, they come and go; and tomorrow never knows, so won’t you dance with me tonight oh yeah Do you feel it? Can you feel it slipping away Is it something you dare not say, cos in the end it'll be alright oh yeah

Almost Home 04:20
I saw the raindrops fall on the cars and the broken walls for a thousand days. I was running down the street, I saw the rain falling at my feet and it swept me down, then lightning struck and there I saw my life flash before my eyes, and take me back to when my world began. The leaves were green. I heard my mother calling: 'Wake up son, we’re almost home.' I was laying on the floor with the lights out and the curtains drawn, and there I knew the rain had come and carried me away…. So run children run across the fields to the rising sun and don’t look back - live your life until you see the light flash before your eyes, and take you back to when the world began. The leaves were green. You’ll hear me calling: 'Wake up son, you’re almost home.'

about

Visions is a 2022 album by motum. Compared to previous collections, it is a more decisive venture into the synthpop/electronic genre. Accordingly, the more machine-based sound is paired with contemporary or futuristic themes concerning the relationship between humankind and technology.

Warning: excessive levels of reverb. Listen at your own risk (better with headphones).
